Jay Houston (born 1987) in SE Washington, DC and hailing from Clinton, Maryland has been consistently putting out music over the course of the past 13 years. What makes his music so pure is what people call “the voice” often times referred to as the next coming of Bone Thugs N Harmony Jay Houston’s flow is rapid pace combined with military like cadences that make you feel like your listening to early to mid 90’s midwest hip hop. Not one to conform to standards Jay Houston is not your average rapper, his biggest music influences are Three six Mafia, Bone Thugs, and Adina Howard. He usually takes some aspect of their style and meshes it together to come up with the unique sound that you hear from him.
Jay Houston as a rapper is also known for his no nonsense approach to putting out albums and mixtapes. Often times promoting his own work, recently he has dropped two mixtapes entitled “The American Funeral” along with “Underground King Buried Alive” the latter being his staple mixtape. Houston has collaborated with a quantity of DMV artist and recently started the faith over doubt movement which calls for everyone to have faith in themselves because if they don’t then how will you be successful?
